Contract for work and service

With a contract for work and services, the contractor undertakes to produce and deliver physical or non-physical work for the customer. The term “work” is generally understood to mean the achievement of a specific result. Such work can therefore include not only construction work or the production of a made-to-measure dress, but also services such as the preparation of plans or expert opinions and cleaning or repairs. The customer owes the contractor a fee for the work.

The contract for work and services is governed by Art. 363 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR). In addition, the applicability of the standards of the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects (SIA) is often contractually agreed for construction work.
